We’re back with part 2 of Our Approach to Security! To recap, we sat down with our Chief Technology and Product Officer, Erik Nienaber, and Security Architect, Ameer Mashkour, to get the inside scoop on the role security plays in our work here at Iris. For part 2, Erik shares details of the security questions prospective partners have for us when they are reviewing our solution. Let’s jump into it!
What are Some Security Questions or Concerns Prospective Partners Have for Us When They are Reviewing Our Products & Services?
Erik: There's definitely a lot of things that folks bring to us. They have a security perspective and their own security groups, concerns, and fears. So, we try to provide a broad assessment of what we're doing and what we're trying to do.
The main focus: clients send us their user data and want to know how we keep it secure. These folks want a specific review of how that's done to understand what security measures we have in place. Things like behavioral MFAs, how someone accesses our product, what happens when someone accesses it, who has access to that data, and how we are keeping all the information safe.
Prospective partners also ask us questions like "does Iris have a dedicated security team" and "is Iris farming those security activities out?" At Iris, we have an in-house team that is completely committed to doing this. Prospective clients also want to know if someone is auditing from the outside, checking what we’re doing to ensure our clients’ data is secure, and if those outside vendors have industry-recognized certifications. The answer to these questions is yes.
