Throughout April and May, American Airlines Inflight TV aired an interview with Generali Global Assistance President of Identity and Digital Protection Services, Paige Schaffer. In the segment, Schaffer discussed growing trends in identity theft and the crime’s effect on its victims. Schaffer mentioned that while most people are aware of the financial impact the crime can have on victims, few give thought to the emotional strain involved in the aftermath of resolving the crime. She also named some growing types of fraud, including theft of children’s personally identifiable information (PII) and fraudulent use of PII to receive medical care.
