Europ Assistance, a global provider of assistance services worldwide in the travel, home and family, health and automotive fields and part of the Generali Group, one of the world’s largest insurance groups, today unveiled its strategy to rebrand its U.S. Identity Protection and Travel business units to Generali Global Assistance (“GGA”). This multi-phased initiative will commence with the company’s Identity Protection Services business line being the first to transition to the GGA name, effective immediately.
Chris Carnicelli, CEO, Generali Global Assistance North America commented on today’s news, “Generali Global Assistance represents the global strength and presence of Generali Group, with nearly two centuries of brand equity. This transition promotes our global resources and expertise, and enables us to leverage the full capabilities of one of the 50 largest companies in the world, under a more relevant and unified brand to better serve our clients and partners. Our name change was driven by the opportunity to better serve our clients by offering unique and forward thinking insurance and assistance solutions, and true expertise across the Globe. We will now be in an even stronger position to increase our investments in our solutions, our customers, and our people.”
Antoine Parisi, CEO, Europ Assistance – Generali Global Assistance Group stated, “This is an exciting time for our company as we embark on a great transformation to become one group and one company, with an even greater commitment to providing outstanding service to our global client base. The launch of Generali Global Assistance in the USA leverages the rich history and worldwide assets of a company that pioneered the assistance industry, providing products and services to its customers in times of crisis for over 50 years. We see tremendous growth opportunities in the U.S. and look forward to providing our customers even more effective solutions under the Generali Global Assistance name.”
Generali Global Assistance Identity Protection Services
Effective immediately, Europ Assistance USA’s Identity Protection Services will be renamed Generali Global Assistance Identity Protection Services. Products and solutions carrying the Europ Assistance USA name will be transitioned to fall under GGA, while retaining the brand equity established over the past five decades. Today, in addition to travel and beneficiary companion services, GGA offers a full suite of identity protection services that provide comprehensive solutions to prevent, detect, and resolve identity theft. Offered as solutions to over 50 million people through partnership with Fortune 500 companies, GGA’s identity theft protection services address all major areas of need, offering prevention, monitoring, alerts, resolution service and insurance.
In 2015, $15 billion was stolen from 13.1 million Americans as a result of identity theft, according to Javelin’s 2016 Identity Fraud Study. That same year, the threat of large-scale data breaches that expose massive amounts of personal information continued to increase, with 781 breaches occurring in the U.S. alone, according to the Identity Theft Resource Center’s 2015 Breach Report. The need for an integrated approach to identity protection has never been more critical to combat these growing threats to financial stability and emotional well-being. GGA will offer advanced identity prevention services, including resources educating customers on how to reduce the threat of identity theft as well as digital privacy protection software. Additionally, GGA’s monitoring solutions detect identity theft at its inception to ensure an immediate response in order to minimize damages.
“While many companies focus on identity theft prevention alone or after the fact data breach response services, Generali Global Assistance provides proactive risk mitigation for both companies and their customers,” said Paige Schaffer, President and COO of Generali Global Assistance’s Identity Protection Services Global Unit. “If ultimately victimized, our customers count on industry-leading resolution services to ensure that the recovery process is as seamless and effective as possible. Our award-winning staff of certified resolution specialists provide white glove service to customers who have been victims of identity theft. These specialists can spend up to one full year liaising with credit bureaus, financial institutions, and government agencies on behalf of victims in order to restore their identity to good health.”
