Once lost, customer trust can be hard to regain, especially in the era of the data breach. Over 1,000 data breaches were projected to be reported before the end of 2017, exposing over 9 billion records since 2013! It’s no wonder that few Americans express confidence in the security of everyday communication channels and their ability to keep their data private.
Data Privacy Day
This is just one of the reasons the National Cyber Security Alliance launched the Data Privacy Day Initiative, to encourage businesses and consumers to understand and participate in their role in protecting data. In addition to being the right thing to do, respecting customers’ privacy and safeguarding their data is critical to be able to maintain their loyalty to your brand, and doing it well can lead to increased retention and revenues.
